JOB SUMMARY: The Private Branch Exchange (PBX) Operator/Receptionist greets guests within the hospital lobby areas and manages the facility telephone switchboard system. The specifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability to meet the minimum requirements for this position. Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience: Previous experience with telephone switchboard systems. Licensure/Certification: None Knowledge: Excellent telephone etiquette and tact; pleasant and audible speech, with good enunciation; flexibility; ability to interact effectively with persons of widely diverse roles, backgrounds, cultures, and socio-economic classes, those in crises or resistant or negative toward organization; ability to remain seated at switchboard for long periods of time without significant discomfort or distress.
