Responsible for developing and implementing Specialized Therapeutic Services for the hospital. Provides supervision to Recreation Therapists, Music Therapists, Activity Specialists, Wellness Coordinator. Ensures recreational activities enhance patient care by improving the social, physical, and cognitive functional behavior of patients. EDUCATION : Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION : National Council of Therapeutic Recreation Certification, Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS), Music Therapist Board Certified (MTBC), and Current High and Low Elements Facilitator Certification or ability to acquire within 90 days of hire. Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities : Program and facilitate Specialized Therapeutic Services on acute and partial programs. Supervise Recreation Therapists, Music Therapists, Activity Specialists, and Lifeguards as needed. Document services including assessments, Master Treatment Plans, and daily Progress Notes. Co-sign documents prepared by Activity Specialists. Develop and monitor QPI of the department quarterly. Maintain inventory, supplies, and equipment. Schedule use of recreational facilities. Manage all responsibilities related to the Challenge Course. Supervise Special Events provided by the STS department. Perform other duties as assigned.
