
HR Generalist (Carol Stream, IL)

Overview
This role is onsite, 5 days per week, in our distribution facility in Carol Stream, IL, also supporting Itasca and Romeoville. The HR Generalist provides comprehensive HR support—including talent management, performance management, and associate engagement—coaching and guiding managers and associates while recommending solutions to business issues. The position partners closely with HRBPs and other HR functions to deliver solutions that drive the company’s success. The HR Generalist is approachable, adaptable to changing priorities, and solutions‑oriented.
Primary Responsibilities
Assist in development, delivery, and coordination of HR and company initiatives and compliance activities such as UI claims, employment letters, immigration processing, I‑9 compliance, and leave of absence.
Collaborate with Senior HR Managers and Senior HR Business Partners to develop programs and processes that promote a positive work environment; create employee engagement plans and execute departmental goals.
Conduct proactive employee relations activities, including structured feedback sessions and employee recognition programs.
Partner with Talent Acquisition and HR Partners to support position management and recruiting efforts, including data management, marketplace strategy, job‑description review, and contingent labor processes.
Ensure an appropriate onboarding process for new employees and collaborate with HR teams and leaders to execute onboarding plans and educate hires on HR policies, internal procedures, and regulations.
Advise managers on formal training opportunities and support preparation of Professional Growth Plans.
Manage location‑based annual affirmative action plans; ensure full compliance with outreach, interview, selection, and record‑keeping guidelines.
Participate in employee discussions under the ADA and support the Workers Compensation Program.
Advise supervisors and managers on application of company policies to ensure consistency and accurate policy interpretation across departments.
Education and Experience
Level of Formal Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Area of Study: Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or related field
Years of Experience: Minimum 3+ years in a related HR field
Type of Experience:
Excellent interpersonal and project‑management skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
3+ years of work experience in recruiting, employee relations, performance management, onboarding/offboarding, record‑keeping, and compliance.
Preferred: Oracle HCM experience; ability to generate regular and ad‑hoc HR‑metrics reports.
Special Certifications: PHR, SPHR, or GPHR

Pay, Benefits & Work Schedule The salary range for this role is $58,500 per year to $80,000 per year, subject to state and local minimum wage compliance.
