Purpose / Objective Provides relationship management support, manages workout loans, develops strategy for overall portfolio, and monitors the existing exceptions managed portfolio of loans for Small Business. Continuously evaluates exceptions-based portfolio performance to maintain portfolio quality and risk rating accuracy. Interacts with customers, bank employees, and legal counsel to address credit and deposit service-related matters satisfactorily.

Key Accountabilities

A key member of the Small Business Leadership Team to help with new product creation, technology enhancements, and future growth of Small Business.

Manages line renewals, maturing loans, modifications, extensions, releases, annual reviews, and assignments in a defined portfolio of existing Small Business customers with borrowing needs up to a maximum $500K in relationship size. Product mix includes C&I and CRE, SBA and non‑SBA products.

Approves and denies line renewals and modifications within authorized limits.

Maintains open lines of communication with all lines of business within the Bank to ensure accuracy and timeliness on loan renewals/modifications being facilitated.

Assists the small business underwriting team in facilitating write‑ups for modifications.

Assists with managing delinquency with the Special Assets Team; monitors overdrafts, score alerts, high‑line use of borrowers to carefully assign risk ratings for early detection of material changes in customer performance.

Works with a large portfolio of SBA loans to ensure compliance with SBA Policy and Procedure. Monthly reviews of proper line utilization and term out of such lines if needed. Responsible for monthly review of all new SBA loans for fraud detection and for keeping abreast of changes in SBA policy, offering guidance on changing processes from application to post‑close. SBA requires specialized knowledge and industry expertise.

Reports management trends in portfolio, helps create changes in process and policy, and creates procedures to proactively manage this portfolio. Involved in compliance and audit findings and recommended changes to policy and procedure.

Assumes additional responsibilities as requested.

Ensures compliance with all banking laws, rules, regulations, and prescribed policies/practices/procedures necessary to reduce risk and uphold ethical standards related to and required by duties.

Education

BS in accounting, finance, economics or business administration preferred or equivalent experience.

Continuing education in bank‑related courses.

Experience

5+ years in credit analysis or risk underwriting in the banking industry.

Skills & Knowledge

Demonstrated ability to execute.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.

Computer skills including web‑based searches.
