Overview
We are hiring an MDS Director to join our dynamic care team at Wadsworth Glen Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Middletown. Wadsworth Glen is a 102-bed skilled nursing facility. This is a salaried role with weekly pay and an 8a-4p shift. As the MDS Director, you plan, organize, and direct the MDS process, overseeing resident care plans through clinical assessment, review of residents\' medical history, personal interviews, and completion of MDS reports. Experience & Education
Must possess, as a minimum, a Nursing Degree from an accredited school of nursing, college or university, RN preferred. Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as an RN in this state. Duties & Responsibilities
Coordinate the MDS process Oversee ADL training for facility and staff Issue and deliver denial notices timely and appropriately Complete and transmit all CMS approved item sets (MDS) Knowledgeable of and follow current CMS regulatory guidelines as described in the RAI Manual Comply with facility privacy policies and protect residents’ health information Maintain Medicare meeting minutes per Medicare program agreement Issue and deliver Medicare denial letters per CMS regulations Manage residents’ Medicare/Insurance benefits Maintain adequate systems to ensure documents support billed services Other duties assigned by manager Specific Requirements
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when warranted Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public Must be able to coordinate MDS systems, resident assessment, and care plans for each resident timely Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, and applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines for long-term care Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, and be willing to handle difficult residents Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and incorporate them into existing nursing practices Must be able to communicate effectively to appropriate personnel regarding emergency situations Must possess accurate and comprehensive assessment skills to ensure standards of nursing practice About Athena Health Care Systems
