The Opportunity Embry‑Riddle Aeronautical University is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to serve as the
Director of IT Services
on the Daytona Beach campus. This on‑site leadership role is responsible for providing strategic direction and operational oversight for campus IT services, including desktop support, instructional technology, audio‑visual services, and IT‑related projects.
The Director of IT Services plays a critical role in delivering responsive, reliable, and customer‑focused technology solutions that support the university's academic, administrative, and research priorities. As the primary point of contact for campus IT operations, this position partners closely with campus leadership, faculty, staff, and University Information Technology to align technology initiatives with institutional goals.

Key Job Functions
Provide leadership and direction to IT Services staff, fostering a high-performing, service-oriented team through clear expectations, accountability, and open communication
Oversee day-to-day IT service delivery to ensure service level agreements (SLAs), performance metrics, and customer satisfaction goals are consistently met
Monitor service quality, workload, and outcomes using KPIs, metrics, and user feedback to drive continuous improvement
Identify trends, perform root cause analysis, and implement proactive solutions to enhance service delivery and system reliability
Serve as the primary liaison between campus stakeholders and University Information Technology, ensuring alignment of services, standards, and strategic priorities
Build and maintain strong relationships with faculty, staff, and students to assess technology needs and deliver effective solutions
Lead and manage IT projects, including planning, resource allocation, execution, and timely completion
Develop and manage capital and operational budgets, ensuring alignment with campus technology needs and university priorities
Represent IT Services in meetings, committees, and strategic initiatives across the campus and university
Stay current on emerging technologies and higher education trends to inform planning, innovation, and service enhancements
Oversee vendor relationships and partnerships to support service delivery and operational effectiveness
Perform supervisory responsibilities, including staff development, performance management, and fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement

Qualifications Required Education and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
Minimum of 5‑10 years of progressive experience in Information Technology
Demonstrated leadership experience in high-volume IT service and support environments
Preferred
ITIL certification
Experience with enterprise desktop management tools (e.g., MECM, Addigy)
Experience with enterprise audio‑visual technologies (e.g., Crestron)
Required Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of ITIL-aligned service and incident management practices
Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders
Strong strategic thinking and problem‑solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing needs
Experience managing IT projects from planning through implementation
Ability to manage budgets, prioritize resources, and execute in a complex, fast‑paced environment
