Job Description This position manages BSW field education.
Responsibilities include:
Advising students in preparation of their field placement
Planning and facilitating practicum planning workshops
Reviewing and approving student learning agreements
Providing assistance with the development and implementation of field placement policies
Conducting site visits to monitor student progress; providing assistance in the identification, recruitment, approval, and monitoring of field placement sites and field instructors
Supervising practicum seminar instructors, overseeing seminar content, offering consultation to students and field instructors if placement issues arise and planning the annual practicum and career fair
This position has teaching and service responsibilities
Qualifications
MSW from an accredited social work program
Five years of post-master's social work experience
Licensure as a clinical social worker and experience as a field instructor are preferred
Candidates with prior teaching experience in higher education are preferred
Seeking candidates with the ability to contribute to a welcoming and inclusive culture embodying social work's core values of service, dignity and worth of the person, importance of human relationships, integrity, and competence
