About the Opportunity We are seeking a Business Development Manager to build new customer relationships in the power and energy markets. to build new customer relationships in the power and energy markets. This role focuses on developing commercial opportunities by leveraging deep expertise in origination and power buyer dynamics. The ideal candidate brings experience in power origination at an energy major or leading power developer, fluency in power market structures, and an established network of power buyers, particularly within data centers, hyperscalers, AI infrastructure, utilities, and large industrial customers. Essential Functions Essential Functions Actively prospect and originate new business opportunities by networking daily with power buyers, procurement teams, energy managers, and decision-makers across target sectors (data centers, AI platforms, cloud providers, utilities, and industrial users). Leverage industry relationships and rolodex to identify and engage current power purchasers seeking scalable, behind-the-meter, or distributed power alternatives. Drive lead generation through conferences, industry events, targeted outreach, and strategic cold-calling to build awareness of Solaris' power-as-a-service offerings. Qualify opportunities early, translate customer power needs into potential Solaris solutions, and hand off qualified prospects to senior team members for deal structuring and closing. Track market trends in power procurement, grid constraints, and data center energy demands to uncover new entry points for Solaris. Represent Solaris at industry events, client meetings, and networking functions to expand brand presence and generate referrals. Experience/Education Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Energy, or a related field preferred. Approximately 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or origination roles within the power, energy, or infrastructure sectors. Proven network and rolodex of power buyers/procurement contacts in utilities, C&I, data centers, or hyperscale environments. Experience selling or originating power-related solutions strongly preferred. Experience in islanded or behind-the-meter power solutions is a plus. Familiarity with data center or high-load energy infrastructure buyers is a plus.
