The P&C Business Analyst II is responsible for executing tasks associated with the success of the Farm Family organization related to strategic objectives and underwriting support. This is a 100% in‑office position. Candidates must be able to work on‑site at a designated company office during standard business hours. Essential Responsibilities
Manages incoming requests, researching issues/production problems as they arise to identify root cause and assists with complex corrections as needed. Evaluates defects and issues for potential work‑arounds that are acceptable with the business stakeholders until the defect can be addressed. Elicits, identifies, and documents written business requirements and user acceptance testing criteria for department service requests and projects, and collaborates with other business area BAs to assist in doing the same for product or large strategic initiatives. Validates requirements match the intention of the stakeholder's needs, assesses that requirements demonstrate value and communicates advantages/disadvantages of alternate solutions when applicable. Manages stakeholder expectations (no surprises) from beginning to end of an effort by creating and delivering on an effective communication plan. Works with stakeholders to assess impact, analyzes cost/benefit and risk of change and assists in prioritizing changes, service requests and projects in line with the department and organization's goals and roadmap. Reviews current processes and systems to determine how solutions or processes are performing to recommend improvements to support change management, best practice or maximize efficiencies as applicable. Serves as a liaison between Underwriting and other business areas (such as CTS, product, actuarial, agencies, training, compliance, claims, billing, call center, client experience, etc.) and collaborate effectively. Effectively communicates priorities, updates and changes as needed to the underwriting department and leadership and assists with communicating changes & updates on production problems as applicable to the field; Effectively communicates how proposed solutions will achieve business objectives. Assists less experienced analysts as needed. Additional Responsibilities
Completes other tasks as assigned. Qualifications / Experience Required
Bachelor's degree. Three or more years of experience. Supervisory/management experience not applicable. Possess a strong understanding of the P&C underwriting processes, systems, and products. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with all levels and business areas in the organization. Possess effective conflict resolution skills. Strong technical aptitude, proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Must be highly organized, self‑driven, results‑oriented, visionary thinker with a clear focus on quality. Must be adaptable and comfortable with ongoing variety in daily responsibilities. Be open to ongoing education and development. Preferred Qualifications
Industry related designation and/or Business Analysis certification preferred. Experience with SharePoint is beneficial. Employment Eligibility
