Sales Engineer – Custom Industrial Oven Systems

Position Summary We are seeking a technically savvy and customer-focused

Sales Engineer

to support the sales process by bridging the gap between engineering and customer needs. This role is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing technical proposals, and providing application-specific solutions for industrial clients. Ideal candidates will combine strong communication skills with a solid background in

engineering, manufacturing, or industrial equipment .

This is a

hands‑on role

for someone who enjoys working with custom systems, building client relationships, and helping customers solve problems with engineered solutions.

Key Responsibilities Sales & Business Development

Identify, qualify, and develop relationships with industrial customers in target markets.

Conduct discovery calls, site visits, and application assessments to understand customer needs.

Present technical product solutions and communicate the value of our infrared oven systems.

Technical Proposal Development

Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to develop quotes, system layouts, and technical proposals.

Prepare and deliver detailed cost estimates, scope of supply documents, and RFQ responses.

Support configuration of custom systems, including sizing, heat profiles, and process flow.

Customer Relationship Management

Serve as the primary point of contact throughout the sales cycle, from first contact through project handoff.

Educate clients on gas catalytic technology and help them evaluate ROI, efficiency, and performance benefits.

Maintain records in CRM tools, track opportunity pipelines, and follow up regularly with prospects.

Travel & Industry Engagement

Travel to customer sites for meetings, plant walkthroughs, and installations (as needed, up to 60%).

Attend trade shows, industry events, and conferences (e.g.,

FABTECH ).

Provide market feedback to help guide product development and business strategy.

Requirements Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field. (Equivalent technical or sales experience considered.)

2–5 years of experience in industrial sales, applications engineering, or technical account management.

Experience selling or supporting custom machinery, ovens, or industrial automation equipment. Sales/ technical background in pretreatment, coatings, or application equipment experience is also preferred.

Experience selling or supporting industrial coating operations.

Skills & Attributes

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong problem-solving and consultative selling abilities.

Technically inclined, with the ability to read drawings, specs, and system layouts.

Proficient with Microsoft Office and CRM systems. SAP experience a plus.

Comfortable in both manufacturing and customer-facing settings.

Highly self-motivated and able to manage priorities independently.

Familiarity with infrared or gas catalytic heating technologies.

Understanding of UL standards, industrial electrical systems, or powder coating processes.

Experience working in or with small manufacturing businesses
