
Director, Private Credit Workouts

Selby Jennings has been exclusively retained by a leading Texas‑based investment manager to support the continued expansion of its investment team. The firm is seeking to add a Vice President or Director who will serve as the deal quarterback, taking full ownership of the investment process from initial sourcing and underwriting through execution, portfolio management, and exit.
Responsibilities
Origination & Deal Sourcing: develop and maintain relationships with sponsors and founders to source new investment opportunities
Underwriting & Execution: lead due diligence, financial modeling, and structuring of private credit transactions
Portfolio management: oversee active investments, and handle any workouts in the portfolio
Ideal Candidate
Bachelors Degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related from an accredited university
8-12 years of experience in direct investing in either private equity or private credit
Strong preference for professionals who have exposure to distressed debt, restructuring situations, or complex workout scenarios.
Proven track record of sourcing and executing deals.
Strong financial modeling and credit analysis skills.
Experience working directly with borrowers, private equity sponsors, or other stakeholders to negotiate loan terms and conditions.
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment
Based in Texas or willing to relocate
