
Director of Operations

We are seeking an experienced Director of Operations to lead day-to-day manufacturing operations and drive operational performance within a fast-paced production environment.
This leadership role is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and consistent production while meeting quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Director of Operations will translate business goals into clear operational plans and lead execution through plant leadership and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on leader who can align teams, drive accountability, and ensure operational excellence across the organization.
Key Responsibilities Manufacturing & Operational Leadership
Lead daily manufacturing operations to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency targets.
Translate company objectives into clear operational priorities for the plant.
Develop and execute labor plans aligned with production demand and capacity.
Ensure routings, work instructions, and operational data accurately reflect current production requirements.
Drive continuous improvement through Lean and 6S principles to improve efficiency and workplace organization.
Ensure facilities, equipment, and tooling are properly maintained to support production needs.
Execute the operating plan in alignment with financial objectives.
Partner with finance leadership to manage labor efficiency, overhead absorption, and inventory performance.
Monitor operational costs and identify opportunities to improve productivity and reduce waste.
Lead initiatives that improve throughput while maintaining cost discipline.
Materials, Inventory & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Oversee material flow and inventory processes to ensure uninterrupted production.
Develop and execute inventory plans aligned with production requirements.
Maintain strong inventory accuracy through effective systems, controls, cycle counts, and physical inventories.
Work closely with purchasing, materials, workflow, and quality teams to ensure material availability and data accuracy.
Ensure raw materials are received, stored, and delivered safely and efficiently.
Planning & Operational Coordination
Participate in S&OP planning by providing insights on capacity, labor requirements, and operational risks.
Execute production schedules aligned with demand plans.
Communicate operational constraints, risks, and priorities clearly to leadership and cross-functional teams.
Align internal resources to support production timelines and business goals.
Safety, Quality & Leadership Development
Champion a strong safety culture and ensure safe work practices across the plant.
Ensure quality standards are consistently met through effective problem-solving and corrective action.
Lead, mentor, and develop plant leadership while fostering accountability and strong decision‑making.
Build leadership capability by developing emerging leaders into future supervisors and managers.

Qualifications
Proven manufacturing leadership experience with responsibility for operational performance.
Experience leading cross‑functional teams and collaborating across departments.
Experience in matrixed or shared‑services environments is a plus.
