Job Summary The Logistics Management Director is responsible for leading the strategic planning, coordination, and execution of logistics operations for construction projects. This role oversees procurement, transportation, and on-site material handling to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
The Logistics Director will optimize site logistics, manage supplier relationships, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, reduce operational waste, and implement digital tracking systems to improve efficiency across project sites.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Planning:
Develop and execute comprehensive logistics plans from project inception through completion.
Supply Chain & Procurement
Manage material procurement, tracking, and inventory control.
Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to mitigate supply risks.
Site Logistics & Operations
Oversee on-site logistics including traffic flow, crane and hoist coordination, material staging, storage, and waste management.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure all logistics operations comply with company policies, OSHA regulations, and site safety standards.
Technology & Process Optimization
Implement and leverage construction management and ERP platforms such as
Procore
and
Bluebeam
to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and leadership to ensure seamless project execution.
Required Skills & Qualifications Experience
8–15+ years of experience in logistics or supply chain management
Minimum 5+ years of leadership or management experience
Technical Knowledge
Strong understanding of materials management and job site logistics,
Knowledge of construction safety standards and compliance requirements
Leadership
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage logistics for large-scale, multi-million-dollar construction projects
Education Bachelor’s degree in
Supply Chain Management ,
Construction Management or Engineering , or a related field preferred.
