The Director of Athletics provides strategic leadership and oversight of the school’s interscholastic athletic programs, ensuring competitive excellence while advancing the school’s mission of forming young men to become moral, ethical, and responsible leaders . The Director fosters a culture of integrity, accountability, sportsmanship, and faith development, ensuring full compliance with school and Kentucky High School Athletic Association (KHSAA) regulations.
As a member of the Administrative Leadership Team, the Director plays a vital role in shaping the character and leadership development of student‑athletes.
Key Responsibilities
Provide visionary leadership and supervision for all athletic programs and personnel, including hiring, mentoring, and evaluating coaches.
Ensure athletic programs reflect the school’s Catholic identity and commitment to forming moral and responsible leaders.
Ensure compliance with school, Archdiocesan, and KHSAA policies and regulations.
Oversee athletic scheduling, facilities usage, team travel, and event management.
Develop and manage the Athletic Department budget.
Supervise ticketing, concessions, and financial reconciliation processes.
Maintain eligibility documentation and required certifications for student‑athletes and coaches.
Serve in an official capacity at home athletic contests.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business, Sports Management, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Minimum three years of experience in athletic administration, coaching, or related leadership role.
Thorough knowledge of interscholastic athletics and regulatory compliance.
Demonstrated commitment to mentoring and forming young men of character.
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, faculty, alumni, and community partners.
