Working Title Assistant Director of Student Professional Development

Chief Objective The Assistant Director will be responsible for the implementation, management, oversight and success of professional development for all Luter undergraduate and graduate programs, the Signature Scholar Program, enrollment management initiatives, new-student orientation, social media content, and internship, job, and career opportunities in collaboration with the Center for Career Planning.

Responsibilities

Oversee and manage undergraduate and graduate student professional development, including on‑ and off‑campus speaker engagements.

Coordinate the Signature Scholars program, track events and attendance, and communicate progress with students.

Plan and administer the School of Business mentorship program for undergraduate and graduate students.

Promote and track internship and job opportunities in collaboration with the CNU Center for Career Planning.

Oversee scholarship awards, chair the Scholarship Committee, and manage application review and distribution.

Collaborate closely with the Center for Career Planning to deliver successful programming and services for student professional success.

Assist faculty with student competitions and clubs.

Supervise graduate and undergraduate student assistants in program administration.

Advise pre‑business and transfer students on plans of study and orientation.

Assist with internal data collection and external reporting.

Participate in event planning, serve as co‑chair of the Luter Connect networking dinner, and coordinate new‑student orientation.

Support enrollment management activities and the recruitment and admission process.

Create marketing materials and social media content.

Organize alumni engagement activities.

Follow workplace safety regulations and report unsafe conditions, incidents, and accidents.

Maintain positive, professional customer service relationships with students, faculty, staff, and other constituencies.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Excellent written, spoken, and presentation skills.

Proficiency with computers, software, and social media.

Strong understanding of business operations.

Leadership, positive relationship building, mentorship, and project execution skills.

Business relationship development and promotion of new ideas.

Professional demeanor.

Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Required Education Master’s Degree or Bachelor’s degree with work experience that equates to an advanced degree.

Additional Education Consideration Professional certification in a field related to professional development, career counseling, advising, student success, or related content.

Required Experience

Experience in advising, mentoring, or coaching and building strong relationships with the business community.

Project management experience, including meeting facilitation, time management, and project oversight.

Additional Experience Consideration

Experience with event planning and execution.

Experience conducting professional development services or designing workshops and orientations.

Program development experience—including budgeting, fundraising, and supervising staff and volunteers.

Salary Information Starting at $58,519, commensurate with education and experience.

Telework Eligibility Yes. This position is eligible for periodic telework as determined by the department; eligibility is subject to supervisor approval and may be modified or revoked at any time.
