
Senior Interior Designer – High-End Residential (NYC Private Clients)

Francis Interiors is seeking a Senior Interior Designer / Project Manager with deep experience in high-end private residential work.
This role is for a designer who has personally led luxury NYC apartments and townhouses from concept through installation, and is confident owning both the creative vision and the execution. Our work centers on private clients, complex renovations, and long-term relationships.
Residential interiors experience is required. This is not a commercial, hospitality, or architectural role.
This role is NOT for:
Architects transitioning into interiors without substantial luxury residential experience
Designers whose background is primarily commercial, hospitality, or retail
Junior or mid-level designers seeking mentorship or training
This role IS for someone who:
Has 7+ years of high-end private residential interiors experience, ideally in NYC
Has led projects independently from concept through installation
Is confident managing private clients with clarity, professionalism, and discretion
Thrives in a small, high-expectation studio environment
Key Responsibilities:
Lead projects from concept through installation
Develop space plans, design concepts, and detailed presentations
Select and specify furnishings, finishes, lighting, and millwork
Produce and oversee drawings, schedules, and specifications
Manage client relationships, budgets, and timelines
Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and consultants
Ensure design integrity throughout execution
Qualifications:
7–10+ years of high-end residential interior design experience
Strong understanding of construction and project execution
Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and design software, including Adobe Creative Suite; experience with Studio Designer (project management and procurement) is strongly preferred
Experience using Studio Designer for procurement and project management is strongly preferred
Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills
Compensation: From $95,000+ depending on experience
