The
Senior Director of Mathematics Strategy & Achievement
leads the design and advancement of a coherent, network wide mathematics strategy to increase student mastery, as measured by SAT Math and AP Mathematics outcomes. Reporting to the Chief Academic Officer and serving on the Leading and Learning Team, this role functions as the network’s lead architect of secondary mathematics strategy and primary designer and facilitator of mathematics professional learning. Working through influence and partnership, the Senior Director accelerates improvement across schools. Strategic Impact
Success in this role will be reflected in measurable gains on college ready assessments, (e.g. SAT Math and AP Mathematics), and in a professional learning system that produces sustained improvements in mathematics instruction, departmental cohesion, and leadership practice. Core Responsibilities
Refine and advance a 9 to 12 mathematics strategy aligned to college readiness outcomes. Lead regional mathematics programming that drives collaboration, professional learning, and performance monitoring. Develop and implement the network-wide strategy to support learners in Tier 2 and Tier 3 Identify and scale effective research based practices from high performing campuses. Professional Learning & Leader Development
Design and directly deliver professional learning for mathematics teachers and school leaders. Refine and scale onboarding for new mathematics teachers. Strengthen existing in person and virtual learning structures. Build leader capacity to observe and coach high quality mathematics instruction. Strengthen the impact for mathematics focused PLC structures and common data routines. Advanced Coursework Strategy
Advance a network wide strategy to increase participation and success in AP Mathematics and advanced coursework. Promote rigorous advanced mathematics pathways aligned to college readiness. Use participation and pass rate data to drive targeted strategies that increase AP enrollment and exam success. Data Analysis & Performance Reporting
Conduct ongoing analysis of SAT Math, AP outcomes, and related performance indicators. Provide regular strategic updates to the CAO and executive leadership. Use research and performance evidence to inform network wide recommendations. Other Duties as Assigned
Who You Are Required
Significant experience leading secondary mathematics instruction and improvement in a 9-12 setting. Demonstrated success raising student achievement in mathematics, particularly in low income school contexts. Deep knowledge of college preparatory mathematics standards, SAT Math, and AP Mathematics coursework. Deep knowledge of developing foundational skills in mathematics for high school students. Demonstrated success designing high impact professional development Demonstrated success designing and implementing department-wide academic programming (school-wide, preferred). An understanding of Cristo Rey's Catholic identity and commitment to support students of all faiths or no faith. Preferred
Demonstrated success across multiple school sites or within a network model. Experience with virtual professional learning design and delivery. Advanced degree in mathematics, education, or related field. Additional Notes
