Position Snapshot: As Director of Risk Management & Claims, you’ll serve as a key liaison between our organization, insurance carriers and clients, ensuring claims are handled efficiently, exposures are minimized and risk strategies are proactive rather than reactive. You’ll lead a high‑performing team while shaping forward‑thinking processes that strengthen outcomes for insureds.
What we’re looking for: (Experience/Qualifications)
10+ years of proven experience in risk management and claims administration (leadership experience preferred)
Strong knowledge of insurance policies, claims processes and regulatory requirements
Demonstrated ability to advocate effectively for insured parties
Multi‑line background, including property, worker’s compensation, general liability, etc.
Experience reviewing contracts
Experience analyzing claims data and identifying risk trends
Proven leadership and team management capabilities
Bachelor’s degree preferred
What you’ll be doing: (Job Duties/Essential Functions)
Act as the primary liaison between the organization, insurance providers, brokers and third‑party administrators
Advocate on behalf of insureds to ensure fair and timely claims resolution
Develop, implement and oversee risk management strategies to reduce liabilities
Manage the claims process from initial reporting through final resolution
Conduct claim review meetings with insureds, producers and claim representatives
Analyze claims data and risk trends to improve outcomes and inform strategy
Provide onsite training to insureds on claims reporting, return‑to‑work procedures and EPL exposure avoidance
Attend prospective client presentations to highlight the value of the Risk Management Department
Answer technical questions on multi‑line claims from producers, CSRs and insureds
Stay current on case law and regulatory changes
Develop ideas to improve departmental services and efficiencies, including leveraging AI
Lead and mentor the risk management and claims team to achieve departmental goals
