Our client is Global Real Estate Firms with a phenomenal environment opened a new role!
Role works with Dept leads in Accounting, Tax, Finance, Treasury, and Operations. This role will oversee reporting, accounting for property taxes, and minimization strategies for their properties. You will manage external service providers, ensure accurate tax accounting in compliance with GAAP/SOX, drive assessment appeal strategies, and partner with cross-functional teams (Accounting, Finance, Operations, IT) to optimize efficiency and reduce tax liabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee monthly tax accruals, journal entries, and account reconciliations, ensuring alignment with SOX and GAAP standards.
Conduct deep-dive analysis of property-level, portfolio-level, and jurisdiction-level data, including variance analysis and monthly reporting to leadership.
Manage outsourced tax vendors, review property tax assessments, and direct the appeals process to ensure accurate, timely payments across a large, multijurisdictional portfolio.
Evaluate the tax impact of acquisitions, dispositions, and new developments, identifying opportunities to enhance performance.
Required Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
E xperience:
5-7+ years of dedicated Property Accounting for taxes and real estate accounting experience.
Background:
Experience within a REIT or a Real Estate Firm clients
Technical Skills:
Strong proficiency in accrual accounting, GAAP/SOX compliance.
