What’s the job all about? The Associate Portfolio Manager plays a key supportive role within Chandler’s Investment Team, providing day-to-day assistance for trading and portfolio management operations. The position requires regular communication with senior investment team members and the Operations team to help ensure seamless execution of trade flows. The Associate Portfolio Manager assists in conducting market and credit research, and participates in Chandler’s investment committees, contributing to the firm’s collaborative approach to risk management and asset allocation decisions.

The essential functions of the role include, but are not limited to the following:

Provide day-to-day support for trading and portfolio management activities, helping to ensure portfolios remain aligned with clients’ stated policy objectives and Chandler’s internal risk management parameters.

Act as a liaison between the Operations and Portfolio Management teams to support smooth trade flow processes.

Assist in conducting market and credit research to support investment decision-making.

Participate in investment team and committee meetings, staying informed on market conditions and contributing to team discussions.

Support new business development efforts by assisting with the analysis of Requests for Proposals (RFPs).

Requirements This Team Member will have: Education: A bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field is required.

Experience: One to three years’ experience in asset management or a related industry. Exposure to fixed income markets and familiarity with financial or credit analysis is desirable.

Skills: Strong analytical acumen coupled with excellent communication and writing skills is necessary for effective performance in this position. Must demonstrate a strong interest in financial markets and a solid understanding of asset management business operations and processes.

Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Bloomberg, and database management is required. Familiarity with portfolio accounting and reporting systems, including Clearwater, is a plus. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to apply these tools to portfolio analysis and monitoring. Knowledge of SQL and VBA is preferred.

Additional Qualifications: Progress towards CFA or other relevant finance or investment management certifications would be advantageous. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
