TITLE: Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction
Qualifications
Professional certificate for School Administration and Supervision, endorsed for the position of School Superintendent and
Rank I certificate status
Minimum of five (5) years teaching experience
Administrative experience in school programs
REPORTS TO: Chief Academic Officer or designee
SUPERVISES: Assigned District Administrators, Principals, and staff
JOB GOAL: To assist the Superintendent substantially and effectively in the task of developing, implementing and refining the best possible educational programs and services for all students
SUPERVISES: District Administrative Staff and Principals, Director of Personnel and employees in above divisions
Performance Responsibilities
Identifies, implements, refines and communicates world class curricular and instructional standards
Develops, establishes, and refines, in conjunction with Academic and School Support Services, the implementation of the Comprehensive District Improvement Plan (CDIP) in the areas of academic performance, learning environment and efficiency
Oversees and monitors all laws, regulations, and statutes affecting the School-Based Decision Making councils and Comprehensive School Improvement Planning (CSIP)
Conduct audits of schools to include visitations by teams, data analysis, documentation and improvement plans
Works with schools to develop strategies for school improvement in the areas of academic performance, learning environment and efficiency
Administers the district certified evaluation system to include annual review of procedures and documentation, coordination of training for all evaluators and collection and storage of all recordkeeping for all schools
Keeps current with all educational developments and practices
Assists in the preparation and administration of the district's budget; administers the departmental budget including the responsibility for budget development and long range financial planning
Provides a leadership role in district-wide curriculum planning and in-service education for professional staff, including Instructional Leadership
Prepares drafts of needed Board policies, administrative rules, and status reports for the Superintendent's review and action as directed
Interprets and communicates the programs, philosophy, and policies of the District to all District stakeholders
Prepares reports as required or directed
Works cooperatively with leaders of other administrative divisions in integrating and coordinating efforts into a unified program for the district
Annually evaluates all personnel under direct supervision
Assists in coordinating the work of the Academic Program Consultants
Initiates and maintains effective liaison with other school districts, Universities and State Department personnel
Investigates certified personnel matters for the Superintendent
Works collaboratively with all District stakeholders, including the Kenton County Teacher Association, Educational Professional Standards Board and the Kentucky Department of Education
Attends all Board meetings, and attends and/or presides over other meetings as the Superintendent designates
Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Salary Schedule: Certified Salary Scale and Assistant Superintendent Index
FLSA Status: Exempt
Evaluation Performance of the position will be evaluated annually by the Chief Academic Officer or designee
