Optomi, in partnership with a leader in communications and entertainment services, is seeking a hands‑on RF Test Engineer to join a specialized engineering team supporting large‑scale broadband and cable infrastructure. This role is focused on validating equipment performance across mechanical, electrical, and RF domains before deployment to the field. This is not a traditional network engineering role, this position is lab-focused and highly technical, working directly with physical equipment to ensure quality, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.

Requirements and Skills of the right candidate:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, RF, or related field) or equivalent hands‑on experience

Experience with RF testing and/or mechanical testing

Strong understanding of lab testing processes and equipment validation

Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast‑paced environment

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in telecom, cable, or broadband environments

Familiarity with SCTE standards

Exposure to both field operations and lab environments

Basic knowledge of Python or SQL for automation/reporting (nice to have)

Key Responsibilities:

Perform testing and certification of broadband equipment including modems, amplifiers, fiber/coax components, connectors, and related hardware

Execute mechanical, electrical, and RF testing to validate performance against internal and industry (SCTE) standards

Conduct environmental testing across extreme temperature ranges (-40°C to +85°C)

Manage multiple concurrent projects (typically 3–4 at a time)

Analyze test results and identify performance issues or risks

Review vendor documentation and validate against internal requirements

Develop detailed technical reports and documentation for cross‑functional teams and field deployment

Collaborate with engineering, operations, and leadership teams to ensure successful product rollout
