Technical Sales Engineer

We are seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to help start our Albuquerque, NM. office. PQI is the leading distributor of metrology systems in the upper Midwest, and we have begun to expand our calibration and inspection service offerings to best serve our customers’ needs in the Southwestern United States. The Technical Sales Engineer would sell gaging and calibration services and dimensional measurement equipment to manufacturing customers as well as to sell inspection services for our Advanced Inspection Services (AIS) department. This role supports recurring calibration and inspection needs of existing customers while developing new business through competitive conversions and emerging accounts.
Responsibilities
Sell gaging and calibration services for dimensional measurement systems
Conduct on-site customer visits to assess measurement and calibration needs
Develop, present, and close service solutions and proposals
Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction and long-term relationship growth
Maintain calibration recall quotations for recurring calibration services
Sell inspection services for customer parts inspection needs
Conduct on-site customer visits to assess measurement and inspection needs
Perform demonstrations on metrology gages and measurement equipment
Create accurate and timely quotes for gages, calibration, and inspection servicesBuild and maintain strong relationships with customers
Build and maintain positive relationships with product vendors
Mechanical aptitude
Collaborate with internal technical teams to support service delivery and customer success
Create and manage new products within our ERP/CRM system
Other responsibilities as required
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of dimensional measurement equipment and calibration practices
Experience in technical sales or manufacturing-related roles
Knowledge of or ability to learn ISO standards
Knowledge of or ability to learn GD&T
Background in quality assurance or manufacturing environments
Technical education or equivalent hands-on experience
Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
Ability to work independently while coordinating with internal teams
