Responsibilities
Evaluate credit applications and assess borrower creditworthiness.
Analyze financial data, credit reports, and financial statements to determine risk.
Gather and review necessary documentation for loan origination.
Conduct thorough assessments and prepare detailed underwriting reports.
Collaborate closely with the sales team to ensure a seamless loan process.
Maintain open communication and teamwork to address client concerns and resolve issues during underwriting.
Stay updated on industry regulations, internal policies, and best practices.
Participate in problem‑solving to resolve any underwriting issues.
Uphold company values of respect, integrity, and teamwork in all interactions.
Qualifications
Strong analytical abilities to interpret financial statements and credit reports.
Excellent communication skills to convey complex information clearly to clients and team members.
Attention to detail, with the ability to avoid minor oversights that impact lending decisions.
Proficient problem‑solving skills to navigate challenges during the underwriting process.
Adaptability and willingness to learn about new regulations and best practices in a constantly evolving industry.
Commitment to teamwork and a respectful work environment.
Subprime and prime lending experience strongly preferred.
