Position Overview
A large acute care hospital in the Las Vegas, NV area is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Case Management to oversee all aspects of its case management operations. This is a high-impact leadership role within a major regional medical center offering a full spectrum of inpatient, emergency, and outpatient services.
The Director of Case Management has overall responsibility for managing and coordinating department activities across a high-volume facility. This leader ensures staff compliance with organizational policies and external regulatory standards while driving integration of patient care and discharge planning processes across hospital departments and external agencies. The Director is accountable for achieving established outcomes through active engagement with interdisciplinary teams and external stakeholders and maintains oversight of Case Management, Social Work, and Chaplain services.
Key Responsibilities Operational & Strategic Leadership
Direct and evaluate departmental operations including the case management model, staffing, use of information technologies, onboarding, and staff competencies to achieve performance and quality objectives
Work collaboratively with senior financial and divisional leadership to achieve established goals and expectations
Assess and improve department performance by evaluating operational processes, analyzing data, and implementing sustainable performance improvement activities
Establish and maintain working relationships with key stakeholders including physician leadership, nursing leadership, ancillary service leaders, and compliance and legal teams
Staffing & Workforce Management
Allocate resources to effectively staff the department and meet productivity and quality goals
Provide direct oversight of approximately 110 FTEs including 4 managers, a Social Work Supervisor, and an Administrative Assistant
Lead a team spanning Case Management, Social Work, and Chaplain services
Clinical Excellence & Compliance
Ensure adherence to care coordination and discharge planning processes, emphasizing timeliness, quality, and documentation accuracy
Maintain compliance with organizational policies, standard operating procedures, and external regulatory requirements
Oversee core case management functions and practice across a high-volume, Trauma Level II facility
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in Nursing, Health Administration, or Business Administration preferred
Licensure: Active RN licensure, LCSW, or LMSW required
Experience: 3+ years of acute care hospital case management experience required; 2+ years of case management leadership experience required
Ideal candidate is a self-motivated, high performer with strong strategic relationships with physicians and the post-acute community, and the ability to independently review data and develop action plans
