Role Description We are seeking a full-time Security Sales Engineer to join our team on-site in Salt Lake City, UT. In this role, you will collaborate closely with sales teams to provide technical expertise and solutions to our clients. Responsibilities include assessing customer security needs, creating tailored cybersecurity proposals, delivering technical presentations, and supporting the deployment of security solutions. As a key technical advisor, you will ensure the seamless integration of our offerings into client environments.
What We Need We are seeking a highly motivated, technically strong, and relationship-driven Security Sales Engineer to join our Sales Engineering team. This role sits at the intersection of cybersecurity strategy, architecture, and customer trust.

The ideal candidate is equal parts consultant, architect, educator, and problem-solver — someone who can build executive relationships, translate complex technical concepts, and cut through vendor marketing noise to deliver real, measurable outcomes for customers.
What You’ll Do Customer Engagement & Relationship Building
Build relationships with Security and IT leadership as a trusted advisor
Lead deep discovery conversations (not just surface-level tool gaps)
Align business drivers to security strategy
Maintain strong follow-up, documentation, and account insights
Solution Architecture & Technical Leadership
Design technology forward security architectures across cloud, SaaS, on-prem, and
Advise security team on securing AI - (AI-APP, AI-SPM, AI Gateway, MCP Gateway, Guardrail Solutions)
Data - (DSPM, DLP, DAM, Backup, DR)
Compute - (EDR, RBI, Vuln MGMT)
Identity - (IAM, IGA, PAM, Zero Trust)
Application - (SAST, DAST, SCA, API Security, ADR)
Map solutions to frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI, HIPAA, etc.)
Problem Solving & Strategy
Cut through vendor marketing noise
Partner with vendors to validate real capabilities
Executive Communication
Feature matrices and competitive analyses
Security roadmaps
Maturity assessments
Present to both technical and executive audiences
Stay current on threats, tools, and industry newsletters
Pursue ongoing technical growth and certification
Regularly meet with vendors to find new and emerging technology
Requirements Musts
5+ years in cybersecurity or cloud security
Strong understanding of security programs, risk, and frameworks
Ability to communicate with both engineers and executives
Experience presenting to customers
Strong relationship-building and organizational skills
Self-starter with high learning agility
Preferred
Practitioner background (Security Engineer, Architect, etc.)
VAR, MSSP, or Vendor experience
Familiarity with leading cybersecurity vendor assessments
Experience running evaluations / POVs
Certifications
Certifications (CISSP, CCSP, CISM, Security+, GIAC, cloud cert
