Bachelor's Degree in Business, Technology, or Education preferred
Minimum of five years of related technology or administrative experience
Demonstrated leadership in technology systems and services
Master's Degree in Education or Technology preferred
Reports To Deputy Superintendent
Job Goal The Director of Technology must be a skilled administrator and a technologically savvy individual who can work with all district staff at all levels within the organization to meet the strategic and support needs of the district.
Performance Responsibilities
Leadership and Vision: Provide direction for district technology operations and projects consistent with the district's strategic goals. Collaborate with district and school leadership to maintain effective technology integration and support.
Planning and Budgeting: Manage current technology budgets and assist in planning for necessary purchases and system upgrades. Ensure expenditures align with district priorities and established financial practices.
Team Coordination and Support: Supervise and support technology staff to ensure efficient daily operations and responsive technical assistance. Promote collaboration and communication within the department and across district teams.
Systems and Infrastructure Management: Oversee the maintenance and reliability of the district's network, hardware, software, and security systems. Coordinate with vendors and service providers to sustain uninterrupted operations.
Data and Information Management: Ensure the security, integrity, and confidentiality of district data. Support compliance with data privacy regulations and best practices.
Business and Vendor Relations: Maintain professional relationships with technology vendors and service partners. Manage purchasing and contracts in accordance with district procedures.
Training and Support for Staff: Coordinate or facilitate technology training for staff as needed. Encourage effective use of technology resources to support teaching and learning.
Policy and Compliance: Uphold district policies and state/federal regulations regarding acceptable technology use, data security, and digital ethics.
Communication Systems Oversight: Ensure continuity of district communication systems, including websites, email, and telecommunication tools.
Terms Of Employment Salary and benefits determined by the Superintendent based on experience and qualifications.
Evaluation Performance will be evaluated by the Deputy Superintendent in accordance with district policy for administrative staff.
