About QFC
The Queer Film Collective (QFC) is a Los Angeles–based nonprofit dedicated to supporting, uplifting, and connecting LGBTQ+ filmmakers at every stage of their careers. We exist to create the kind of industry we wish we had entered—one that is accessible, collaborative, and genuinely inclusive.
We serve queer creatives across disciplines, with a focus on early-career and emerging artists who are often shut out of traditional industry pathways. Through community events, screenings, educational programming, and production opportunities, we aim to remove barriers and create tangible pathways into the entertainment industry.
At our core, QFC is about community over competition. We believe that queer storytelling is essential, that representation behind the camera matters just as much as on screen, and that no one should have to navigate this industry alone. Our work centers accessibility, equity, and mutual support, and we are committed to building spaces where queer artists can grow, collaborate, and be celebrated.
Whether someone is attending their first mixer, joining a production, or premiering their work, QFC is here to help them take the next step.
Role Overview The Queer Film Collective (QFC) is seeking a Director of Fundraising to lead and expand our development efforts as we continue to grow our impact within the LGBTQ+ film community.
This role will be responsible for building and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy that supports QFC’s programming, events, and long-term sustainability. The Director of Fundraising will work closely with leadership to identify and secure funding through a mix of individual donors, grants, corporate partnerships, and community-based campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
Developing and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy that supports QFC’s programming, events, and long-term sustainability.
Identifying and securing funding through individual donors, grants, corporate partnerships, and community-based campaigns.
Developing donor relationships.
Researching and applying for grants.
Creating and managing fundraising campaigns.
Helping to shape the overall financial future of the organization.
Qualifications
Strong preference for experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, or partnerships.
Deep alignment with QFC’s mission and values of community-driven work and support for LGBTQ+ storytellers.
Passion for building systems, thinking creatively about funding, and playing a key part in scaling a growing nonprofit.
Eagerness to grow into the role.
At this time, all QFC staff positions are volunteer-based. However, a core priority of this role is helping us build the financial infrastructure needed to transition these positions into salaried roles. The Director of Fundraising will play a direct and meaningful role in making that transition possible.
This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of an organization at a pivotal stage of growth while making a tangible impact on the next generation of queer filmmakers.
