Associate Director of Annual and Integrated Giving

The East Stroudsburg University Foundation, the 501(c)(3) affiliate of East Stroudsburg University, seeks a talented, experienced, and energetic development professional to serve as the Associate Director of Annual and Integrated Giving. The Associate Director plays a key role in the Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving Office, shaping how alumni, students, and donors experience philanthropy at ESU. This position blends campaign strategy, storytelling, audience segmentation, and donor experience to strengthen participation, increase annual revenue, and advance the mission of the ESU Foundation through the Warrior Fund and other giving priorities.

Essential Functions Reporting to the Director of Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving, this individual will work independently and collaboratively with colleagues across the Foundation and university to create and design integrated giving campaigns, donor communications, and planning stewardship experiences that engage alumni and inspire giving. The successful candidate will bring a balance of creativity and analytical strategy. Someone who sees philanthropy as both a communication and a relationship‑building discipline.

Multi-Channel Campaign Strategy and Messaging

Lead the planning, execution, and analysis of annual giving campaigns across email, direct mail, digital platforms, social media, and emerging channels

Develop compelling and donor‑centered messaging that aligns with the Foundation’s mission and brand voice

Build and manage campaign calendars, timelines, and creative direction to support solicitation, engagement, and stewardship goals

Audience Segmentation and Personalization

Use data insights to shape donor journeys, segment audiences, and deliver content tailored to donor interests, behavior, and affinity

Partner with Advancement Services to track performance metrics, test strategies, and refine future communications

Develop targeted campaigns for first‑time donors, LYBUNT/SYBUNT audiences, lapsed donors, non‑donors’ students, alumni, and leadership annual giving prospects

Donor Experience and Stewardship Collaboration

Work closely with Donor Relations and Stewardship to align solicitations with impact reporting, acknowledgments, and donor touchpoints

Support coordinated retention strategies, including thank‑you communications, loyalty recognition, and recurring gift messaging

Ensure annual giving efforts are supportive of the donor experience

Digital Content and Engagement

Lead storytelling and content creation around the Warrior Fund, including impact stories, visuals, video scripts, and platform‑specific messaging

Develop and manage email series, giving pages, crowdfunding content, and digital assets that support donor conversion and retention

Monitor performance analytics to optimize engagement and drive measurable results

Integrated Giving Initiatives

Oversee signature programs that strengthen the giving pipeline, including senior class gift participation, student philanthropy, giving days, and leadership annual giving

Guide student and young alumni philanthropy efforts that cultivate long‑term giving habits and donor identity

Develop innovative giving opportunities tied to affinity groups, faculty and staff, athletics, academic areas, or milestone experiences

Cross‑Campus and Internal Collaboration

Partner with Associate Director of Alumni Engagement and Outreach to integrate giving messages into reunions, chapters, Homecoming, affinity groups, and signature events

Coordinate with Advancement Services, Donor Relations, and Stewardship to align audience strategy, data needs, and campaign delivery

Serve as a strategic partner to enhance visibility in shaping how philanthropy is communicated throughout the donor and alumni lifecycle

Additional Duties

Monitor daily mail and complete gift logs

Exercise professionalism and discretion in working with confidential information

Qualifications

Three or more years of relevant experience in fundraising, communications, digital engagement, or related mission‑driven work

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive, donor‑centered content

Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment

Experience using CRM (Blackbaud NXT) or marketing platforms to segment audiences and analyze performance metrics

Collaborative, creative mindset with an ability to build relationships and influence across departments

Availability for occasional evening/weekend work and travel

Proficiency with database management systems and software platforms: i.e., Raiser’s Edge, Microsoft Office Suite, proficient in Excel

Must be able to successfully complete background checks
