Partnership Schools seeks an entrepreneurial and innovative
Director of Early Learning
to help catalyze the organization’s continued growth and advancement. They will join a growing, motivated, and collaborative team—comprising both on-the-ground leadership in Cleveland, and geographically dispersed talent based on the organization’s talent-first mindset.
Who We Are Since 2013, the Partnership has been a pioneering school management organization shaping the next generation of urban Catholic schooling. From 2013 through 2024, the Archdiocese of New York granted operational management of seven long-standing Pre‑K to 8th‑grade schools in the South Bronx and Harlem to the Partnership, and during that time the schools experienced substantial math and reading achievement gains and increased enrollment significantly. In 2020, the Partnership was invited to expand to the Diocese of Cleveland, where it manages four schools in the heart of the city providing students in historically underserved neighborhoods with the academic preparation, faith formation, values, and skills they need to thrive. The Partnership currently serves about 1,000 students in Cleveland.

What You’ll Do The
Director of Early Learning
is responsible for supporting school leaders in strengthening academic foundations for all early childhood and primary‑grade students, and coordinates the implementation of early literacy screening & intervention tools to ensure early identification and support for at‑risk students. Additionally, this role designs and facilitates professional development for PK–3 educators and literacy specialists and oversees the planning and launch of new PreK programs.
As a key member of the academic leadership team, the Director of Early Learning will have the following key responsibilities:
Instructional Leadership: Provide guidance and support to school leaders and specialists in implementing curriculum, instructional strategies and multi‑tiered systems of support (MTSS) for students in grades PK-3.
Literacy Screening and Intervention: Coordinate the implementation of early literacy screening and intervention tools at the school level, including RIMPS and dyslexia screeners; support leaders in analyzing student performance data and make recommendations and referrals for additional support as necessary.
Pre‑Kindergarten Program Management: Work closely with school and network leaders to launch new PreK programs and sustain existing ones, ensuring ongoing compliance with all applicable state early childhood education regulations, licensing requirements, and reporting expectations.
Professional Development: Design and deliver professional development to build instructional capacity of PK‑3 teachers and literacy specialists, with an emphasis on high‑quality literacy and math instruction and evidence‑based strategies to support students who are at risk academically.
Innovation: Stay current with educational research and trends to introduce innovative teaching practices and technologies.
What You’ll Bring
Education: Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Early Childhood or Primary Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role. Experience in special education is preferred.
Skills: Strong leadership and organizational skills; Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities; Proficiency in data analysis and instructional technology; Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of stakeholders.
Ability to Travel: As we grow to become a multi‑region organization, some travel may be required.
