The Director of Quality Assurance will possess competency in the following areas in order to perform his/her role in a safe, productive, and effective manner. Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, scientific, or construction-related discipline from an accredited college or university as well as at least 15 years’ related experience and/or training
Knowledge of construction practices (i.e., formwork, rebar, concrete placing, etc.) is preferred
Quality assurance-related experience in the nuclear power industry or related complex project environment (DOE/DOD facilities)
Demonstrated skill and knowledge with applicable quality codes and standards and NRC regulations
Knowledge and understanding of 10CFR50, App. B, ASME NQA-1 and ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, ISO Programs, etc.
Knowledge of the general structure of quality assurance programs, improvement processes, and interface with PMO
Prepares, oversees, implements and communicates the quality program requirements and changes
Schedules and implements periodic internal audits to review the adequacy of the Company NQA-1 Program
Reviews and approves the Quality Assurance Project Documents (QAPDs)
Establishes procedures for training and qualifying Inspectors and Auditors
Reviews major project inquiries and generates proposal content
Reviews the Customer’s Design Specifications, Purchase Orders and Customer Contract Documents
Qualifies and evaluates supplier quality programs and implementation
