Overview
MissionHires is partnering with a highly reputable, mid-Tennessee commercial General Contractor to hire a Senior Commercial Construction Superintendent in Nashville, TN (on-site, no remote). The Superintendent will lead day-to-day field operations for high-end restaurant and retail, commercial office, hospitality, and mixed-use projects (ground-up and build-out), driving schedule, budget adherence, safety, quality, subcontractor coordination, and client communication from design through closeout. Salary range: $75,000–$120,000 DOE. Responsibilities
Plan, develop, and manage project schedules in partnership with the Project Manager, ensuring adherence to Reverse Phase Scheduling Over-communicate with clients, trade partners, and internal staff to align on priorities, milestones, and issue resolution Direct day-to-day site activities and supervise subcontractors/trade partners and craft employees Assign field responsibilities, track productivity, and provide performance input to management Review shop drawings and submittals; manage material procurement, deliveries, and site logistics Ensure site accessibility, enforce safety standards, and maintain an organized, efficient jobsite Inspect work for quality and compliance with drawings, specifications, and finish schedules Proactively identify risks, constraints, and conflicts; sequence and coordinate work to protect schedule and budget Interface regularly with inspectors, architects, interior designers, engineers, clients, and city officials Maintain thorough project documentation and reports using Word, Excel, and construction software (Procore or Sage preferred) Promote environmentally sound practices, including waste minimization and recycling where practical Lead projects from design participation through punch list and project completion/closeout Requirements
Minimum 5 years of commercial construction site-management/superintendent experience Proven success managing schedules and budgets on commercial projects (restaurant/retail, office, hospitality, mixed-use; ground-up and build-out) Strong ability to organize, prioritize, and follow up on multiple concurrent tasks and trades Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a positive, client-focused demeanor Demonstrated leadership to motivate and support subcontractors and field teams Ability to build strong relationships with owners, design teams, trade partners, inspectors, and authorities having jurisdiction Proficient in reading and interpreting construction documents, blueprints, finish schedules, submittals, and equipment specifications High level of proactivity, forward planning, and attention to detail Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with Procore or Sage Construction Software preferred Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field preferred (or equivalent field experience) Commitment to jobsite safety, quality control, and environmentally responsible practices Management-focused role; no requirement for hands-on use of hand or power tools
