The Elko Daily Free Press is looking for an editor who can serve as a player/coach and lead the newsroom. The ideal candidate will inspire the team to grow the audience by reporting impactful local news for print and digital platforms.
Responsibilities
Plan, develop, and implement news coverage strategy for breaking news, enterprise stories, sports, and features.
Plan the story budget and ensure stories are ready for immediate digital posting.
Establish and maintain an effective workflow, edit stories, and produce content as needed.
Supervise staff and juggle the demands of digital and print journalism.
Qualifications
Experience in a supervisory role within a newsroom.
Demonstrated ability to act as a player/coach and lead a team.
Strong background in both digital and print journalism.
