
Fluid Power Sales Engineer - New Business Acquisition

IFP Automation is seeking a Sales Engineer focused on new account acquisition and gross margin growth within an assigned territory. This is a performance-driven role for a true hunter who wants to build a territory, win new business, and be directly rewarded for results.

You are comfortable prospecting, initiating contact with new potential customers, and creating new opportunities

What You’ll Do
Develop and win new customer accounts
Build your own target account list by analyzing the territory and using available tools and market information to identify high-potential opportunities
Drive gross margin growth within territory
Generate new business and profitable growth in key strategic areas, including:
Hydraulics
Electromechanical Motion & Control
Pneumatics
Automation Products
Mechanical & Electrical Systems and Engineered Solutions
IFP Core Products
Partner with engineering and operations to deliver complete customer solutions
Build and manage a strong pipeline of opportunities
Compensation
Competitive base salary
Performance-driven variable compensation tied to gross margin
Higher earnings come from:
Winning new accounts
Growing gross margin dollars year over year
Selling core product lines and engineered solutions

Building and maintaining a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities
Selling value added solutions rather than competing primarily on price
What We’re Looking For
Proven success developing new business in the fluid power industry
Success in selling to engineering managers and other key stakeholders; selling Hydraulics and/or Pneumatics is a plus
Proven ability to take market share from competitors while selling premium priced products
Strong communication, prospecting, and relationship building skills
Self-motivated, disciplined, and accountable
Technical or industrial sales experience required, preferably in direct customer sales
