This position will be supporting
Training & Education Management Systems
for
Naval Education
and Training Command (NETC) . The
Technical Writer
will support our Programs of Record; Corporate Enterprise Training Activity Resource Systems (CeTARS) for both schoolhouse & corporate, Navy & Joint MyEducation (MyED), Naval Education and Training Future Officer and Citizenship User System (NETFOCUS), Navy Inspector General Hotline Tracking System (NIGHTS), Navy Enlisted Advancement System (NEAS), Authoring Instructional Materials (AIM), and Learning Assessment System (LAS).

Active Secret (Interim Secret may be considered for strong candidates)
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering, IT, or related field. Degree must be from an ABET accredited or NCAE-C designated institution (as identified at cyber.mil)
Experience:
Mid-to-senior level technical writing experience

Key Responsibilities
Documentation Development:
Draft and edit complex hardware and system documentation including Technical Manuals, Technical Instructions, Modification Instructions, Procedures, and User Guides
Content Management:
Maintain, update, and author new revisions of technical documentation including Systems Engineering Management Plans, Configuration Management Plans, and Statements of Work
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Partner with SMEs and assist technical team members with writing tasks and documentation development
Process & Standards Adherence:
Follow established processes, writing/style conventions, and configuration management requirements for program documentation
Quality Assurance:
Review documentation submitted by stakeholders (e.g., requirements documents, statements of work) for completeness, correctness, and compliance prior to baselining
Information Structuring:
Compile and structure researched technical information into clearly communicated formats for stakeholders
Visual Documentation:
Source or develop technical diagrams to support reference documentation
Compliance & Governance:
Produce documentation in accordance with customer formatting and governance standards
Reference Management:
Clearly track and cite reference sources
Task Management:
Manage numerous tasks, priorities, and technical inputs with minimal supervision
Required Technical Skills
Technical Writing Tools:
Proficiency in technical writing tools and software packages
Documentation Standards:
Familiarity with military system documentation standards (MIL-STD-38784, DOD-STD-2167A, IEEE 12207-2-2020)
Collaboration:
Experience working in conjunction with multi-disciplinary teams to develop technical content
Editing & Quality Control:
Strong attention to detail and ability to refine and edit technical information for clarity and accuracy
Organization: Excellent organizational skills
Preferred Skills & Experience
AI Tools:
Experience using various AI platforms
Technical Domain Exposure:
Knowledge of infrastructure modernization, applications/software development and sustainment, cloud solutions, and agile methodologies
Federal Experience:
Experience supporting defense, civilian, space, or national security sectors of the federal government
