
Strategic HR Director: Leadership & Employee Relations

The Division Director of Human Resources provides strategic leadership and oversight of human resources initiatives across assigned divisions and business areas. This role serves as a trusted advisor and primary HR partner to senior and campus/location leadership, ensuring consistent, compliant, and effective employment practices. The Division Director of Human Resources leads employee relations strategy, workplace investigations, and policy application while supporting retention, engagement, and culture initiatives. In addition, this position designs and delivers operational and leadership training to strengthen leadership effectiveness and support organizational goals.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Serves as the primary human resources partner to senior and campus/location leadership, providing strategic guidance on policy application and ensuring consistent, compliant HR practices across the organization.
• Advises leaders on employee relations matters including coaching, counseling, corrective action, performance management, suspensions and terminations.
• Leads and conducts complex employee relations investigations, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and matters involving regulatory agencies (e.g., EEOC, DOL).
• Conducts thorough witness interviews, prepares clear, concise, and well documented investigation reports, and ensures timely and appropriate resolution of cases.
• Partners with campus/location and divisional leadership to address compliance concerns and advises on organizational risk.
• Provides guidance on and assistance with mediation and conflict resolution.
• Designs and delivers HR, operational, and leadership training aligned with organizational needs and goals.
• Provides individual and group coaching to leaders to strengthen leadership capability, performance, and professional growth.
• Supports campus/location employee engagement initiatives, including action planning and progress toward organizational goals.
• Partners with leaders to support retention strategies tailored to campus/location needs.
• Leverages data, trends, and insights to identify risks and opportunities and to support improvements in culture, engagement, and outcomes.
• Demonstrates strong working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Experience: 5-8 years
Licenses and Certifications
SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR preferred
Physical Requirements
Sitting, standing, bending, reaching, stretching, stooping, walking, and moving intermittently during working hours. Must be able to lift at least 50lbs. Must be able to maintain verbal and written communication with co-workers, supervisors, residents, family members, visitors, vendors, and all business associates outside of the health campus.
