Join a dynamic packaging team in a food manufacturing environment where you'll play a key role in ensuring the efficient production and quality of food products. This position offers a hands-on opportunity to develop skills in packaging operations and food safety protocols, making it an excellent stepping stone in the food manufacturing industry. This is a 2nd shift position located in Platteville, WI with the opportunity for hire. Packaging Responsibilities:
Assist in operation of machinery and equipment used in the cheese conversion or food manufacturing process to ensure smooth operation and efficient production Work closely with other production associates and team members to ensure efficient workflow to meet production targets Load packaging and raw materials into food manufacturing equipment Move products and materials within the facility, following proper handling procedures using electric pallet jacks, hand trucks, or other equipment to transport goods Ensure ingredients and materials are readily available for production activities Observe and monitor production lines to ensure the smooth flow of operations Conduct regular quality checks and complete quality documentation to ensure compliance with specifications and standards Inspect products for defects, ensuring they meet the required quality criteria before packaging and distribution Assist in packaging finished cheese products into appropriate containers, ensuring accurate labeling and adherence to packaging guidelines Clean and maintain equipment, tools and work areas following proper sanitation and cleaning procedures to maintain a clean and safe work environment Assist in managing inventory levels of raw materials, packaging supplies and finished products Assist in equipment setup, changeovers and maintenance to ensure uninterrupted production and adherence to quality standards Adhere to ERU food safety policies and all government food safety and sanitation regulations. (ex. FDA, HACCP, GMP, OSHA) Requirements for Packaging:
- Previous experience operating packaging machinery in a manufacturing or food processing environment is preferred - Able to operate electric pallet jacks - Able to read and interpret work instructions - Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers - Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products - Physical stamina to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects and standing for extended periods - Able to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team - Able to work in a fast-paced environment and adaptable to change - Able to work overtime or extended shifts as needed About us: QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
