About the Role
The Company is seeking an Interim Executive Director with a strong background in nonprofit or education leadership to guide the organization through a transitional period. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing steady leadership, strong project management, and fostering collaborative partnerships with elected officers, faculty, and staff. This role is pivotal in ensuring the continuity of operations, strengthening organizational processes, and setting the stage for the next permanent Executive Director. The ideal candidate will be an experienced interim executive director or senior nonprofit/education leader, skilled in leading organizations through change, and adept at building trust, assessing needs, and driving progress with clarity and confidence.
Key responsibilities for the Interim Executive Director include governance and organizational leadership, program oversight, event leadership, external relations, and fiscal and operational management. The role demands an exceptional project manager who can prioritize, delegate, and execute, as well as a strong communicator and collaborator who can build relationships quickly. The Interim Executive Director will also be involved in overseeing the organization's awards portfolio, managing staff, and ensuring that office resources are aligned with the organization's goals. The position requires a confident decision-maker who can take action and maintain momentum, and who is comfortable partnering with elected leaders, faculty, and staff.
