Virtual School Director, gt.school (Remote) - $200,000/year USD
Crossover, Phoenix, AZ, United States
Many virtual schools prioritize access over academic rigor. They provide online instruction. They do not guarantee measurable growth.
GT School operates on a different model. We work with Gifted & Talented students in grades K–8 through AI‑enhanced curriculum and high‑expectation mentorship. We are now expanding our virtual program to ensure families nationwide can access GT‑caliber acceleration regardless of location. This position is designed to create a virtual school environment that is academically demanding, credible, and demonstrably effective.
You will lead the complete operational framework of the virtual program. This encompasses student journey architecture, advisor performance oversight, cohort‑based interventions, and family confidence building. No established blueprint exists. You will analyze performance data, execute rapid course corrections, participate directly in live sessions as required, and establish the infrastructure that makes 3× learning gains sustainable and scalable.
This is an operational leadership position for someone who thrives on measurable results. Key indicators include retention rates, learning acceleration, parent satisfaction, and tangible student achievements. If you are motivated by independence, operational complexity, and direct accountability, this role offers that mandate.
What You Will Be Doing
Architecting and iterating on the complete virtual student journey to maximize acceleration, healthy competition, and community connection
Conducting weekly analysis of student outcomes, advisor effectiveness, and parent feedback to pinpoint performance gaps and execute rapid improvements
Leading performance oversight of the 3× learning framework, tracking XP progression and creating systems that maintain student momentum
Collaborating with advisors to deliver cohort‑specific interventions and proactive family outreach before concerns intensify
Developing advisor training, calibration, and development systems leveraging session data, performance dashboards, and outcome metrics
What You Won’t Be Doing
Managing a static curriculum with standardized procedures and delayed response times
Relying on others to surface operational or instructional challenges
Prioritizing participation metrics over documented academic progress
Generating reports that fail to result in actionable improvements to student outcomes or advisor effectiveness
Virtual School Director Key Responsibilities Design and manage a scalable virtual school operation that reliably produces 3× learning outcomes, builds lasting parent confidence, and sustains family enrollment through transparent, recognized student achievement.
Basic Requirements

Instructional or teaching experience with hands‑on involvement in learning delivery (virtual, in‑person, or hybrid formats)
Advanced diagnostic capability leveraging dashboards, recorded sessions, and continuous feedback mechanisms to uncover issues and implement solutions
Proven ability to manage distributed teams with explicit expectations, accountability structures, and execution discipline
Excellent parent engagement skills with evidence of proactive, relationship‑focused communication
Nice‑to‑have Requirements
Track record designing motivational frameworks such as competitions, performance leaderboards, or community traditions that sustain student engagement
