Regulatory Compliance Specialist – EEA
Reporting to the Product Compliance Manager, the Regulatory Compliance Specialist – EEA is responsible for ensuring ChemTreat’s water treatment chemical portfolio meets all applicable European Economic Area (EEA) regulations and standards. This role plays a critical part in enabling our business to operate confidently and compliantly across the region—supporting product stewardship, customer trust, and our commitment to safeguarding vital resources.
The position is part of the Regulatory Compliance Department, located in Glen Allen, VA, and will be remote.
Responsibilities
Planning, managing, and executing regulatory deliverables with cross‑functional teams to ensure new and existing products meet EEA requirements.
Performing hazard classifications and preparing documentation aligned with GHS and CLP regulations.
Responding to customer inquiries across the EEA, collaborating with subject matter experts when needed.
Conducting and documenting food‑contact risk assessments in accordance with European member state and ECHA regulations (e.g., BfR).
Supporting global chemical product risk management, sustainability initiatives, and emerging regulatory frameworks.
Maintaining and updating product compliance records within ChemTreat’s regulatory software systems, including testing and implementing system changes.
Sharing best practices, mentoring team members, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Requirements
BA/BS degree in Physical Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field.
Minimum of 7 years of chemical compliance experience.
Minimum of 2 years of chemical compliance experience within the European Union.
Demonstrated experience with GHS, CLP, and EEA chemical regulatory frameworks.
Experience conducting food‑contact risk assessments and working with relevant certifications (e.g., Halal, Kosher, NSF Standard 60).
Compensation and Benefits US ONLY: The compensation range for this role is $110,000 - $120,000 USD per year.
