$115,000.00/yr - $125,000.00/yr Direct message the job poster from Ultimate Staffing The Director of Catering is responsible for all aspects of catering sales and management to include development, planning, and performance of all sales duties related to Catering Sales. Successfully negotiates and closes sales that will maximize space and achieve/exceed catering goals. Listens to guests' needs, analyzes information, and creates custom proposals that exceed guest expectations. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Generates and develops new catering business Maintains and nurtures new and existing client relationships Review catering contracts and relay the proper information to other departments Heavy external and internal guest contact Maintains and develops client relations for new and larger established existing customers, assuring all existing customers are contacted regularly to ensure customer satisfaction and develop need-based marketing relations Generate conference revenue with an eye on exceeding goals Actively pursue business accounts Ensure contracts are completed and executed accurately Provide exceptional service to new and existing accounts Create and implement action plans to increase a base of sales Conduct site tours with potential clients Strong communication and responsive nature Ambassador and representative for the company as a whole Analyzes existing and anticipated client needs and promotes company services to fill catering sales requirements Functions as liaison between client companies and operations staff Professional, friendly, and self-motivated Attention to details and follow through Effective organizational skills Performs other related duties as assigned by management SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervises employees within the department(s) Indirectly supervises employees within the department(s) Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems QUALIFICATIONS: Dynamic, enthusiastic, creative leader who thrives under pressure and is able to perform multiple functions and troubleshoot when needed Must have proven selling, negotiating, and presentation skills Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees Commitment to excellence and high standards Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm Requires knowledge of advanced sales techniques Highly developed customer service skills with strong attention to detail Proficient computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook The ability to delegate, effectively train, and coach employees EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with hotels is a must.
