Base pay range $75,000.00/yr - $125,000.00/yr

Viking Chemical is expanding our salesforce to the Twin Cities/Minnesota area. Ideal candidate lives in Greater Minneapolis‑St. Paul area and surrounding suburbs. The primary purpose of this position is to establish a new sales territory in Minnesota & Northwest Wisconsin. Your primary focuses will be prospecting, developing new business, responding to RFPs, developing proposals for presentation to customers, and selling Products and Services. Product Managers and Cross‑functional teams from marketing, and Smith Ecological Services (SES) help provide support and tools for you to meet and exceed sales performance goals. You will utilize your excellent relationship building, negotiating, and technical skills to be successful in this role. Your territory boundaries would include Minnesota/NW Wisconsin & Northern Iowa.
Job Responsibilities
Enhance Viking’s position within each account using consultative and in-depth selling at all levels within the account.
Prospect for new business; conduct sales calls and actively grow the size of your account portfolio.
Identify new business opportunities.
Maintain a clear updated view of your sales pipeline.
Meet established new business goals for new accounts and new business at existing accounts.
Prepare self‑assessment for semi‑annual performance review utilizing objective and subjective criteria.
Learn to live in and rely on CRM.
Build in-depth relationship with decision‑makers at key accounts.
Make personal visits to key accounts and entertain the accounts’ decision‑makers when deemed appropriate.
Resolve customer service issues and complaints to the customer’s satisfaction.
Responsible for maintaining and coordinating customer quotations or providing necessary information to allow Viking’s home office to do so.
Coordinate with Sales Manager, Purchasing, and Operations to ensure proper inventory levels, lead times communicated and overall customer satisfaction.
Communicate clearly as needed to ensure Viking employees and customer contacts are aware of account activity and any actions required to successfully service the customer.

Maintain up‑to‑date information on customers (contacts, competition, products).
Serve as a resource to customers by sharing useful information (regulations, safety, product knowledge, market trends, pricing).
Reporting Structure
This position reports to the Sales Manager.
Works with Operations, TS&D and Corporate Purchasing.
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent business experience.
Minimum 5‑year sales and marketing experience.
In‑depth knowledge of chemical distribution business preferred.
Demonstrated success driving sales growth.
Expert relationship builder both externally and internally.
Strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
Strong communication skills; both verbal and written.
Salary: $75,000 to $125,000.00 /year
