MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT As a Cloud Transformation Architect, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of government agencies. You will play a crucial role in overseeing the design of the cloud infrastructure to ensure scalability, security, and efficiency. You will ensure the cloud environment meets both short and long‑term goals.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and manage secure, scalable cloud architectures in enterprise settings.

Execute cloud migration strategies including rehosting, re-platforming, and refactoring.

Build Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates, or Ansible.

Define and govern architecture standards and frameworks to support high availability, disaster recovery, and scalability.

Apply best practices in cloud security, compliance frameworks (e.g., FedRAMP, NIST 800‑53), and IAM.

Manage cost optimization, resource monitoring, and performance tuning for cloud‑native services.

Implement and operate containerized environments with Docker and Kubernetes.

Integrate cloud platforms with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines for automated provisioning and deployments.

Lead technical design sessions and collaborate with stakeholders to align architecture with mission and organizational objectives.

What you’ll need to succeed Education Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a closely related technical field.

Minimum Experience Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive experience in IT, including at least five (5) years of direct experience designing and managing cloud‑based solutions across AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), or hybrid/multi‑cloud environments.

AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional

Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert

Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect Professional

Security Clearance The selected applicant will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for High‑Risk Public Trust access.

Location Hybrid position based in Washington, DC. Expect to be in the office 2–4 days a week.

Timeline This is a contingent posting, expected to start in July or August of 2026.
