As a Cloud Transformation Architect the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of government agencies. You will play a crucial role in overseeing the design of the cloud infrastructure to ensure scalability, security, and efficiency, and to meet both short‑ and long‑term goals.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and manage secure, scalable cloud architectures in enterprise settings.

Execute cloud migration strategies including rehosting, re‑platforming, and refactoring.

Build Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates, or Ansible.

Define and govern architecture standards and frameworks to support high availability, disaster recovery, and scalability.

Apply best practices in cloud security, compliance frameworks (e.g., FedRAMP, NIST 800‑53), and IAM.

Manage cost optimization, resource monitoring, and performance tuning for cloud‑native services.

Implement and operate containerized environments with Docker and Kubernetes.

Integrate cloud platforms with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines for automated provisioning and deployments.

Lead technical design sessions and collaborate with stakeholders to align architecture with mission and organizational objectives.

What you’ll need to succeed

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a closely related field.

Minimum Experience:

10+ years of progressive IT experience, including at least 5 years of direct experience designing and managing cloud solutions across AWS, Microsoft Azure, GCP, OCI, or hybrid/multi‑cloud environments.

Certifications:

Must hold one or more advanced certifications from major cloud providers, such as: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional

Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert

Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect Professional

Security Clearance:

Must be eligible for High‑Risk Public Trust access and subject to a government security investigation.

Location & Timeline Hybrid position based in Washington, DC. Expected to be in the office 2‑4 days a week.

Contingent posting, expected to start in July or August of 2026.

Salary Range $187,179 – $230,000 (actual salary based on experience, location, and contractual requirements).
