M MC Group is hiring for a Deputy Director of Fiscal Operations for our client in Grand Prairie, TX!
Our client is a public-sector–focused organization supporting workforce solutions in DFW, and is seeking additional support to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for its finance division.
This role is responsible for ensuring strong internal controls, accurate financial reporting, sound budget management, and compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations. The Deputy Director will oversee daily fiscal operations while helping drive process improvements and long-term financial planning.
This is a leadership position requiring both hands‑on accounting knowledge and the ability to guide teams, auditors, and executive stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic direction and oversight for all Fiscal Operations activities
Lead budget development, implementation, monitoring, and forecasting
Track expenditures and develop corrective action plans as needed
Ensure effective internal controls and compliance with applicable regulations
Oversee financial reporting and maintain accounting systems
Establish and refine accounting procedures aligned with regulatory requirements
Serve as primary liaison for external auditors and lead resolution of audit findings
Recommend and implement improvements to financial systems and processes
Supervise and mentor fiscal staff while driving accountability and performance
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
8+ years of relevant fiscal/accounting experience
Minimum 3 years of supervisory or management experience
Strong knowledge of: GAAP; Budget control methods; Grant and contract financial management guidelines (including FMGC); Federal, state, and local financial regulations
Experience developing financial forecasts and managing departmental budgets
Ability to interpret laws and regulations and apply advanced accounting principles
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
CPA (or actively working toward certification)
Experience in grant-funded or government-funded environments
Valid driver’s license with good driving record
Pay $85-90k
Location On-Site M-F 8AM-5PM, Grand Prairie, TX
