Position Overview Santa Rosa United Soccer Club (SRU) is seeking a Boys Director, ECNL Boys Director to provide leadership, coordination, and technical oversight for all boys teams competing in the U13–U19 age groups.
This role serves as the primary programmatic and technical leader for the boys' 11v11 pathway, ensuring consistent player development standards, strong coaching support, alignment with competitive standards, and professional communication with families. The Boys Director works in close collaboration with the Executive Director and broader leadership team to deliver a high‑quality experience across ECNL and non‑ECNL boys programming.
Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership and technical oversight for all boys teams U13–U19, including ECNL and non‑ECNL programming
Support and guide boys coaches in alignment with SRU’s technical philosophy, standards, and curriculum
Facilitate regular staff meetings and ongoing communication with boys' coaches
Assist with tryouts, player identification, recruitment, and roster planning for the boys' pathway
Oversee player movement recommendations, discovery players, and guest player processes in collaboration with SRU leadership
Serve as the primary liaison for boys ECNL programming with leagues, opposing clubs, and internal stakeholders
Support the college recruitment process for older boys' players through education and coordination
Attend league meetings, showcases, and designated events as required
Communicate proactively and professionally with parents regarding program structure, expectations, and seasonal priorities
Collaborate with the Executive Director, Technical Director (if established), Academy Director, and operations staff to ensure alignment and clarity
Coaching 1-2 teams within the ECNL is an additional commitment included within this scope
Required Qualifications
Significant coaching and leadership experience within a youth soccer environment
Demonstrated ability to lead, support, and develop coaching staff
Strong communication skills with coaches, families, and internal stakeholders
Organized, dependable, and capable of managing multiple priorities across a competitive season
Ability to work evenings and weekends as required by the soccer calendar
Comfort using club management, scheduling, and communication platforms
Preferred Qualifications
USSF A or B License, or equivalent professional experience
Three or more years of experience in a technical leadership role (Director of Coaching, Program Director, or similar)
Experience working within ECNL or other high‑level competitive platforms
Experience supporting college recruitment education for players and families
Work Environment & Expectations This role is in‑person and requires on‑field presence. The time commitment is full‑time, with increased hours during peak competitive periods, such as tryouts, league play, showcases, and tournaments.
