This is an opportunity to join the FMIC India team as an
Account Manager , based in the Mumbai Office. The successful applicant will be responsible for developing and growing a profitable portfolio of business within an assigned territory, consistent with policies, business strategies and objectives.
This position will report to Sumit Khanna, Assistant Client Service Manager.
Responsibilities
Work closely with Business Development Executives on new prospects to promote and market essential products and loss prevention engineering services to a network of brokers to support a steady stream of desirable new business opportunities and a stable portfolio of existing customers.
Develop/maintain and grow a profitable book of business:
Evaluate and determine the acceptability of the risk throughout analysis of the broker’s submission.
Collaborate with account engineering to complete an account risk assessment that determine the nature and level of loss prevention activity needed and identifies/quantifies risk improvement priorities.
Skillfully parley final account coverage, pricing, terms, and conditions to recognize market conditions and meet customer needs and expectations in the most cost-efficient way.
Building and maintaining excellent relationships with brokers and clients to create long-term customer loyalty to FM, and throughout the term of the policy to monitor and manage change in the customer’s business and exposures.
Provide excellent and responsive service to our broker and customer base that clearly leverages our strengths as a competitive differential in the marketplace.
Ensure that all submissions, proposals, policies, billing, and requests for midterm changes are handled expeditiously with documentation delivered in an accurate and timely fashion.
Assume a lead role within the Client Service Team to support the strategic goals and objectives of our clients by providing professional advice and consultation on insurance coverage and risk management matters within our full range of services.
Assume a lead role working with other members of the Account Team to coordinate and deliver all products and services and demonstrates transactional speed and ease.
Coordinate account team resources to provide excellent and responsive service that adds value to our broker and customer relationships.
Ensuring growth by retaining clients at equitable terms and conditions whilst helping them improve their overall risk quality and reduce the possibility of loss.
Research and recommend the appointment of new brokers and establish multiple business contacts at appointed producers to maximize opportunities and maintain long term relationships.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or finance. Insurance or risk management certification desirable.
Minimum 3 years of FM experience in engineering, approvals or insurance or more than 8 years of commercial underwriting or broker experience with exposure to middle and large market property accounts of varying occupancies and sizes. An engineering background is an asset.
Knowledge of FM business model including an understanding of risk identification and assessment, property insurance coverage, forms, financial statements, and business computer applications.
Existing experience or knowledge with the FM Advantage policy form or underwriting procedures desired but not required.
Detail oriented, with excellent time management, planning, organization, and analytical skills.
Business oriented with sales
egotiation skills, and problem solving and decision-making mindset.
Pro‑active, resilient, motivated, and perseverant.
Strong team player also able to work autonomously while demonstrating excellent judgment.
Able to operate to a large degree of flexibility and an ability to think out of the box.
