Subject Matter Expert, Event Driven Trading
Our client, a quant trading startup, is building machine learning models to automate what discretionary traders do. The team includes highly technical ML Engineers. Now they want someone who has lived and breathed event trading to help teach the machines how real traders think. You will not run a book. You will not be responsible for P&L. Instead, you’ll turn trading intuition into structure: playbooks, patterns, and reasoning around M&A, spin-offs, shareholder votes, earnings events, and special situations. The ML team will then build on what you define. Requirements Experience of event driven, merger arb, or special situations investing Experience at respected hedge funds Clear understanding of catalysts, risk sizing, and timing Must be New York based and able to work in person Offer Base salary around $225k–$300k An equity stake in the company Onsite in NYC Make a huge impact at an early-stage startup Seniority level
