The Senior Director, Deposits Sales, Onboarding, and Engagement will lead the strategic direction and execution of Ally’s sales funnel, onboarding processes and outcomes and customer engagement strategy and coordination work within the Consumer Bank. This leader will be responsible for delivering customer growth through efficiency in the application and onboarding journeys and partner closely to optimize desired product acquisition and mix. Ally’s efforts to maximize sales funnel efficiency while delivering a superior customer journey and experiences will be a primary driver of overall business results. The role will partner broadly across the Consumer Bank including matrix partnership with Marketing and Technology teams to develop and deliver merchandising strategies and management of and deepening within the customer relationship.
The Work Itself
Sales Planning & Performance Management: develop and implement detailed sales strategies, with specific performance targets aligned with broader outcomes, including efficiency in customer conversion, acquisition cost and customer growth objectives.
Customer Growth & Product Acquisition: lead efforts to identify initiatives that will maximize new customer acquisition for, increase multi-product penetration, and optimize product mix across the consumer bank portfolio.
Sales Funnel Optimization: analyze and enhance the sales funnel, by product and channel to improve conversion rates, reduce friction, and maximize customer acquisition and onboarding efficiency. Include deep coordination with product teams, support teams and marketing partners.
Onboarding Excellence: oversee the end-to-end onboarding process, ensuring a seamless and engaging experience for new customers. Identify and implement solutions to maximize self-service digital experiences and minimize friction that result in problem‑solving or call center inquiries.
Customer Engagement & Deepening: partner with marketing to design, prioritize and execute programs that drive customer growth, deepen customer relationships through higher engagement, and result in higher multi-product adoption opportunities.
Merchandising & Lifecycle Management: collaborate on merchandising strategies and manage the customer relationship lifecycle to maximize lifetime value and retention.
Customer Retention: develop and implement strategies that minimize existing customer attrition and low engagement levels to drive higher customer loyalty and retention.
Cross‑functional Leadership: lead and inspire a high‑performing team, fostering collaboration across Sales, Marketing, and Product functions and partner teams in Fraud, Customer Service and support functions.
The Skills You Bring Minimum Qualifications
12+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
High School Diploma of GED equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or related field; MBA preferred.
10+ years of progressive leadership experience in sales, customer onboarding, and engagement within consumer banking or financial services.
Proven track record of driving customer growth, product acquisition, and retention.
Strong analytical skills with experience optimizing sales funnels and customer journeys.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience partnering with Marketing and Digital teams to deliver integrated customer strategies.
