What we need:
Guardian Restoration is looking for a Director, Security, Infrastructure and Operations (SI&O) to lead and strengthen our enterprise security posture, cloud and infrastructure environment, identity and access management, and day‑to‑day IT operations. Reporting to our VP, Systems & Technology, this role is responsible for shaping and advancing security controls, SSO/MFA, onboarding and offboarding governance, MSP performance, and infrastructure reliability across a multi‑location, private‑equity‑backed organization.
The Director, SI&O will help modernize Guardian’s IT operating model by improving lifecycle health, reducing technical debt, strengthening monitoring and patching practices, and building a proactive, metrics‑driven operations culture. This role partners closely with Application Development, Data & Integration, Finance, HR, and Operations leaders to ensure technology controls are practical, scalable, and aligned to business needs.
This role will be successful for someone who balances strategic direction with execution, builds strong teams, and creates predictable, auditable operations in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead enterprise security strategy, roadmap, and execution.
Lead implementation and adoption of SSO, MFA, conditional access, and security baselines across major systems.
Oversee penetration testing, vulnerability management, and remediation planning.
Ensure alignment with cybersecurity insurance requirements and audit expectations.
Establish incident response and security escalation procedures.
Embed security‑by‑design principles into infrastructure architecture and lifecycle decisions.
Improve visibility through centralized monitoring, logging, and alerting.
Support Zero Trust and segmentation initiatives where infrastructure plays a critical role.
Lead user lifecycle governance, including onboarding, role changes, and offboarding.
Define role‑based access models, group structures, and access standards.
Oversee Microsoft licensing governance, optimization, and cleanup.
Lead Azure, Microsoft 365, and Entra environment health and architecture.
Champion cloud‑first architecture while supporting hybrid requirements.
Establish backup, disaster recovery, patching, monitoring, and lifecycle health standards.
Ensure platforms can scale to support growth and acquisitions.
Build endpoint and device management strategy.
Lead the MSP operating model, including SLAs, escalation paths, and performance management.
Improve reliability by reducing outages, chronic incidents, and technical debt.
Establish KPIs for reliability, security posture, lifecycle health, and service quality.
Build disciplined change management practices aligned with ITIL concepts.
Lead development and ongoing maintenance of IT policies, including security, acceptable use, device, and access policies.
Define, maintain, and reinforce operational standards and documentation.
Lead infrastructure and security budget planning and forecasting.
Maintain visibility into licensing, subscriptions, hardware assets, warranties, and consumption‑based services.
Optimize cost through standardization, rationalization, and vendor management.
Build, lead, and develop infrastructure, security, and operations teams.
Hire, coach, mentor, and develop internal staff and contractors.
Foster a culture that balances hands‑on execution with disciplined planning, operational rigor, and continuous improvement.
Partner closely with Application Development, Data & Integration, Finance, HR, and Operations leaders.
Support acquisition onboarding through standardized infrastructure and security baselines.
Communicate priorities, risks, and progress in clear, business‑focused terms for technical and non‑technical audiences.
Qualifications Required
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
Significant experience leading IT infrastructure, operations, and security functions in complex environments
Experience leading infrastructure, security, and/or operations teams and developing talent
Experience operating in high‑growth, transformation, or change‑intensive environments
Experience managing external technology partners and service providers, including MSPs
Strong knowledge of the Microsoft ecosystem, including Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra, and Conditional Access
Hands‑on experience with identity and access management, MFA/SSO, and security controls
Experience improving lifecycle health, strengthening operational rigor, and reducing technical debt
Familiarity with ITIL‑based operational practices, including incident, problem, and change management
Preferred
Experience in private‑equity‑backed organizations
Experience building security programs from early‑stage maturity to more standardized operations
Experience supporting multi‑location or field‑based organizations
Familiarity with cybersecurity insurance and audit readiness
Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, ITIL, Microsoft Azure, or similar

Compensation Guardian is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For this position, the base salary pay range is $180,000 - $200,000 plus bonus. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
Location Hybrid role – requiring 2-3 days per week in the downtown Denver office.
